Abstract


This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Ummi method of learning the Koran in improving students' reading skills at the Mutiara Insani Islamic School Tangerang Middle School. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, using data and information through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained was then processed by determining answers based on the results of interviews with the school principal, Ummi method coordinator, Ummi method AlQur'an teacher, and Mutiara Insani Middle School s tudents. This research is also a field research, namely direct observation of the object under study which aims to find relevant data related to learning the Qur'an using the Ummi method. The results of this study are that the Ummi method of learning the Qur'an at Mutiara Insani Middle School can be explained effectively and is able to improve the ability to read the Koran in students, because in learning the Ummi method emphasizes or prioritizes reading the Koran properly and correctly in accordance with the knowledge of tajwid.
